I was in the ER at Ballarat hospital.
I drove the family car into a pothole on a wet country road and it spun out of control and into a concrete power pole at 80 km/h.
I suffered a severe concussion, a brain injury which lingered for months and was at times debilitating, internal bleeding in my kidneys, a sprained back, grazes and lacerations to my face, neck, chest, arms and stomach from the airbag exploding in my face and glass embedding itself in my body, two badly jarred knees, scoliosis, a damaged digestive system which left me unable to eat unaided by medication for months, and post-traumatic depression.
I can’t believe it was only a year ago.
I am so incredibly grateful to be alive and healthy. I was so lucky.
